The SPS National Council is seeking candidates for the full-time SPS Programs Coordinator position.

The SPS Programs Coordinator plays a key role in planning and implementing SPS signature programs like Summer Internships and Scholarships & Awards, designing and carrying out outreach programs and using stellar communication skills to connect with new and existing members.  The position is based at our headquarters in College Park, MD.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in physics or a relevant scientific subject area required (with substantial physics coursework at least equivalent to a physics minor).  At least 1 -2 years of relevant work experience or relevant Master’s degree preferred. Interest in science education essential. Familiarity with social media platforms and web content management is preferred. Must have excellent communication, written, and telephone skills as well as attention to detail. Experience in computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel are required. Physical ability to perform lifting, assembly and disassembly of display components. The ideal candidate will have proven ability to work within a diverse team environment, have strong interpersonal skills, and a high customer focus.
