Spring Awards & Submissions Deadline – March 15

The 2018 SPS Spring Awards & Submissions Deadline is rapidly approaching!

SPS Scholarships

  • Awards are made to undergraduate physics students on the basis of scholarship, SPS participation, and additional criteria as outlined in the descriptions

  • $2,000-$5,000 awarded

 

Outstanding Undergraduate Research Award

  • Award is provided to students based on exceptional research achievement in any physics-related field

  • Awardees will receive up to $1,800 to cover travel and registration costs to attend one AIP member society professional meeting, a $500 honorarium for themselves, and a $500 honorarium for their SPS chapter

 

Outstanding Chapter Advisor Nominations

  • The Outstanding SPS Chapter Advisor Award is the most prestigious SPS award. It recognizes annually an outstanding SPS chapter advisor

  • $5000 to be divided three ways: 60% to the chapter advisor, 20% to the chapter, and 20% to the department

 

Journal of Undergraduate Reports in Physics (JURP)

  • JURP is devoted to reports authored by undergraduates in physics, astronomy, and their related fields. It is a vehicle for the exchange of ideas and information by undergraduates and their advisors
