PhysCon Pre-Registration Ends 10/04


Pre-registration for the 2019 Physics Congress ends this Friday, October 4! Please note that registration cost will increase after this date. Don’t forget these other important deadlines for PhysCon:

· October 11 - Poster abstract submissions due

· October 11 - Physics “Phine” Art Contest and Exhibit abstract submissions due



PhysCon Awards Close 10/11 

Whether you are presenting a poster at PhysCon or are interested in science writing – SPS has awards available to you! PhysCon award applications close on Friday, October 11. The PhysCon Travel Award will provide $200 for students presenting a poster at PhysCon, while the Chapter Reporter Award provides up to $600 for chapters who want to write and report on special events at PhysCon. Additionally, if you attend an HBCU/MSI, learn how you can have your registration, travel, and lodging covered, here


Chapter Showcase Registration 

Don’t forget to register for the Chapter Showcase at PhysCon! The Chapter Showcase will focus on promoting SPS chapters from across the country, encouraging students to visit with and learn from one another while finding ways to improve their individual chapters. Registration for the PhysCon 2019 Chapter Showcase ends Friday, October 11.

American Meteorological Society 100th Annual Meeting 

SPS would like to congratulate the American Meteorological Society on their 100th annual meeting, occurring in Boston, MA from January 12 to 16, 2020! There will be opportunities for students studying weather and climate to learn, network, and collaborate at the Annual Meeting. AMS offers two programs for the 100th AMS Anniversary Annual Meeting in Boston:

· Student Assistant Program (open to sophomore, junior and senior undergraduate students)

· Student Travel Grant Program (opened to senior undergraduate and graduate students – not presenting at the professional sessions).
