Fall Awards Due 12/02


Have a big idea for an event, outreach, or research project, but don’t have the funds to execute it? Let SPS Nationals help you get there! There’s still time to apply to SPS Fall Awards! Applications and advisor sign offs are due December 2, 2019.


Future Faces of Physics Award

  • Outreach award to chapters to promote the recruitment and retention of people from historically underrepresented groups in physics and astronomy
  • $500 maximum, awarded to several chapters annually


Marsh W. White Award

  • Outreach award to chapters for programs with grades K-12 and the general public
  • $500 maximum, awarded to several chapters annually


Sigma Pi Sigma Chapter Project Award

  • Engagement award to Sigma Pi Sigma chapters for funding events that aim to include alumni, help with chapter inductions, or expand the recognition within the campus and surrounding community
  • $500 maximum, awarded to several chapters annually


SPS Chapter Research Award

  • Research award to chapters for imaginative physics and astronomy projects
  • $2,000 maximum, awarded to several chapters annually

Applications for the SPS Summer Internship Program are now open! 


The SPS summer internship program offers 10-week positions for undergraduate physics students in science research, education and policy with various organizations in the Washington, DC area. All internships include paid housing, a competitive stipend, support to attend a national physics meeting in the year following the internship, and transportation to and from Washington, DC.
