Just two weeks left until the 2016 Quadrennial Physics Congress (PhysCon). The PhysCon planning committee and Sigma Pi Sigma/Society of Physics Students national office are thrilled that you have registered and will be participating in the largest gathering of undergraduate physics students, Sigma Pi Sigma alumni, and scientists in our society’s history.
This is the first of several email communications you will receive between now and November 3, 2016, when PhysCon is officially called to order. Following are a few resources to help you finalize your travel plans and other logistical details.
PhysCon Discussion Boards
The national office has launched a PhysCon Room Share/Ride Share Discussion Board. If you have a room or a ride to share or if you are looking for a room or a ride, or if you have logistical questions, check it out. There are already a few posts!
Download the PhysCon App Get the official app for PhysCon 2016! The app is freely available on the App Store and Google Play Store. It features easy access to the full schedule; speaker, workshop and exhibitor descriptions, and will house poster and art abstracts. The app is fully integrated with our social media channels, and we encourage you to tag your posts with #PhysCon, our official hashtag. Use the app to connect with other attendees, share photos, and fully engage at PhysCon.
Travel and Transportation
We have compiled travel and transportation resources, including information on the shuttle from the San Francisco Airport to the host hotel, on the PhysCon website. You will also find information on local transportation options and food and retail options in the surrounding area.
