Submit Your Research to JURP!
The Journal of Undergraduate Reports in Physics (JURP) is an annual peer-reviewed undergraduate publication of SPS
used as an educational tool for publicly disseminating SPS-related research and programmatic activities. Papers in the areas of pure, applied, computational, and/or theoretical physics and astronomy
are eligible for submission.Papers are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, with a final deadline of March 15.
NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduates in Physics
Be sure to keep an eye on summer opportunities, especially Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU), as applications become available! The National Science Foundation (NSF) keeps an updated list of NSF REU sites for physics here. Be sure to plan ahead to gather your letters of recommendation and other application materials in time!
Upcoming Zone Meetings
Zone meetings bring together students from SPS chapters within geographical zones. They are a fun and effective way for undergraduates to meet other students, present their research, and interact with practicing scientists. Zone meetings in 2020 may look a little different, but they are more convenient to attend and will be just as effective!
GradSchoolShopper has compiled resources to help you excel in your studies. Visit our resources page to check out guides and timelines for applying to grad school, learn about grad school funding options, and find exciting opportunities for physics students like the APS Bridge Program.
