Physics Congress Travel Awards

Travelling to Washington, DC next year for the 2022 Physics Congress? Apply for a Chapter Travel Award! Each chapter awarded will be provided one (1) room for the duration of the congress, (Wednesday night, October 5, 2022, through Sunday morning, October 9, 2022).  Chapters are required to present either a poster or work of art, as well as host a table during the SPS chapter showcase, if awarded.

Travel awards are granted on a first come, first serve basis, and the chapter must have 3-4 students registered by March 15, 2022, to keep the room. 

 
 

Fundraising for #PhysCon2022!

What is your chapter doing to prepare for the 2022 Physics Congress? If you are just getting started, or are looking for new fundraising ideas, check out the fundraising page on the Physics Congress website. The SPS Observer is on its way to you!

The SPS Observer will be coming to your mailbox very soon! The 2021 Fall issue of the magazine gives you an insight into the 2022 Physics Congress with biographies on speakers, sneak peaks into the tours, fundraising tips, how to present a successful poster, and more.  A physical copy of the new issue will be mailed to you and the issue will soon be available online here !

 
 

NBLA Trivia Night

Join the Niels Bohr Library & Archives and Center for History of Physics, alongside host Brad Conrad, Director of SPS, on October 21st for a very un-Bohring night of virtual trivia! All levels of participants are welcome — in-depth knowledge of science and archives is not a requirement!

Grab a team of up to 6 people, come up with a team name, and join in on October 21 from 6 – 8 PM EST. Signing up solo? No problem! Let us know on the registration form if you’d like to play as a 1-person team or if you’d like us to add you to a team.

The APS March Meeting is coming up, and there is still time to submit an abstract! This is your chance to be included in the scientific program, share your work with others, and receive helpful feedback. You never know who might catch your presentation.

SPS offers Travel Awards of $300 (for in-person meetings) to members presenting their research at AIP member society meetings. A limited number of awards will be offered. Apply Today!

SPS members attending and reporting on professional physics meetings are eligible to receive $300 as an individual ($75 if virtual) and $250 per person as a chapter for in-person meetings in travel reimbursement. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Apply Now !
