Celebrating and promoting diversity in physics, and STEM fields in general, is essential to move forward in science.  Read about Elon Price’s story of finding a community in the field of astrophysics here. #HowToSigmaPiSigma - The Physics & Astronomy Honor Society

Want to make this year’s Sigma Pi Sigma induction amazing? This webinar gives a short history of the society, features tips on how to host an induction at your school, and discusses how to start a chapter!  Join Assistant Director of Sigma Pi Sigma, Andrew Zeidell, on either February 21st at 11 AM EST or March 2nd at 2 PM EST. The sessions will last around 30 mins.  Register to attend at the links provided above! We hope to see you there.

 
 

NEW! SPS-Google Scholarship

SPS has partnered with Google to offer an up to twenty, $2,500 scholarships! This award is particularly focused towards undergraduate students with the potential and intention for continued scholastic success who are in financial need. Particular consideration is given to those that may have overcome significant obstacles in their professional journey. Be sure to get your applications in by March 15 to be considered.   Find more information here!

Run for SPS Council

The SPS Council is the main governing body for the Society of Physics Students and Sigma Pi Sigma. The council composition was designed carefully with the student voice in mind. Be the voice of your region and help students across the globe! Nominations are being accepted for the following positions on the SPS National Council (you can self-nominate):  

  • Associate Zone Councilors (undergraduate students) for all 18 Zones (1-year terms)
  • Zone Councilors (faculty) for Zones 1, 3, 4, 8, 9, 13, and 14 (3-year terms)
