Alumni Engagement Program
Through the Alumni Engagement Program, you and your chapter can engage with alumni for career advice, mentorship, job shadowing opportunities, or to schedule an in-person or virtual speaker for your next chapter or zone meeting! You can browse profiles within the alumni database and filter based on geography, engagement level, discipline, and job sector. Once you’ve selected an alum, simply click “Request this Alum” and fill out the required fields within their profile to connect with them.
The Alumni Engagement Program is a great resource to consider for planning chapter activities and to keep in your arsenal of career and professional development tools. PhysCon Deadline Extensions
The following PhysCon 2019 deadlines have been extended to October 17, 2019:
HBCU/MSI Travel Award:If you attend a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) or a Minority Serving Institute (MSI) and are presenting a poster at PhysCon, you qualify for a travel award which covers your registration, travel, and lodging at PhysCon! Award recipients are required to provide a 500-word write-up or 3-5-minute video of your experience at PhysCon. Apply here.
PhysCon Poster Abstract Submissions: The PhysCon 2019 Poster Presentation is an opportunity for students to show off their research and discuss their work with other physicists, both aspiring and experienced. Abstracts are submitted during conference registration.
Physics “Phine” Art Contest & Exhibit: Attendees are encouraged to submit their 2-D and 3-D creations for display and/or judging at the 2019 Physics Congress (PhysCon). Selected winners will display their artwork and be featured on the PhysCon website and published in Radiations and The SPS Observer magazines. Register here.
Breaking Boundaries Event:During the Chapter Showcase at #PhysCon2019, SPS chapters will have table space and are encouraged to fill it with things that represent their chapter and its culture. Concrete items and activities for other chapters to take are encouraged: outreach manuals, fundraising guides, pins, stickers/stamps, t-shirts, etc. Register your chapter here.
