The SPS summer internship program offers 10-week positions for undergraduate physics students in science research, education, and policy with various organizations in the Washington, DC area. All internships include paid housing, a competitive stipend, support to attend a national physics meeting in the year following the internship, and transportation to and from Washington, DC.
Students are placed at organizations, such as NASA, Capitol Hill, and the Niels Bohr Library and Archives, where they can promote the advancement of physics and astronomy within their host organization using their energy and diversity.Apply today!

Provided to students based on exceptional research achievement in any physics-related field
Up to $1,800 provided for travel and registration to attend one AIP member society professional meeting and $500 honorarium for the student and their SPS chapter
JURP is an annual peer-reviewed undergraduate publication of SPS used as an educational tool for publicly disseminating SPS-related research and programmatic activities.
Papers in the area of pure, applied, computational, and/or theoretical physics and astronomy are eligible for submission.
Nominations Open for SPS Council 2020
Nominations are being accepted for SPS Zone Councilors for Zones 1, 3, 4, 9, 13, and 14 for three-year terms, Associate Zone Councilors for all 18 zones for one-year terms, and the office of Sigma Pi Sigma President for a two-year term. Join SPS at the American Meteorological Society 100th Annual Meeting in Boston from January 12th-16th! SPS will be hosting 2 student résumé clinics at AMS during the AMS 19th Student Conference from January 11-12th.
Résumé clinic 1 will be held Saturday, January 11th from 4-5 PM.
Résumé clinic 2 will be held Sunday, January 12th from 2-3:45 PM.
